All Issues Feedback Session Moderator: Rich Strand Notes: Mike Poirier 1.Concern about attaining IVS 2010 goals with current budget projections. 2."Customs Issues" with some stations. Possible data loss due to delays. 3.Dewar replacement parts availability? New development S/X front end? 4.Observing schedule prevents maintenance at some stations. 5."Track" Not being used by all correlators for shipment. 6.Mark5 Western Digital Discs. In or Out of disc pool? 7.Master Schedule: updates should be announced. Confirmation of changes needed. 8.Some stations have excessive idle time in schedules. 9.Concerns. When a station reports to be down long before the session begins (1 week). There are no changes to the schedule therefore leaving the station in the solution. This is then reflected in the correlation report as no fringes to that station. This loss of data is then reflected in the yearly performance chart at TOW and IVS. With the internet, there should be enough time to modify the schedule to remove the failed station and supply new schedules. 10.Larger lab area for some presentations at TOW. 11.On some schedules the last tape has only a few minutes of recording time. 12.Mark5 implementation rushed and confusing for users. Better communication needed between Mark5 group and Field System group. Confusion between Mark5 commands and FS commands. Operators interface with the Mark5 through the FS.
