Analysis Center Response Form Joint CSTG/IERS Call for Participation International VLBI Service for Geodesy and Astrometry Analysis Center name: Bordeaux Observatory (BDX) Type of analysis center: global___ special_X_ Parent/Funding organization: Observatoire de Bordeaux Name and title of primary scientific/technical contact: Patrick Charlot, Dr. Name and title of administrative contact: Patrick Charlot, Dr. Mailing address: Observatoire de Bordeaux BP 89 33270 Floirac, France Phone: +33 5 57 77 61 41 Fax: +33 5 57 77 61 10 E-mail address: charlot@observ.u-bordeaux.fr Web address: http://www.observ.u-bordeaux.fr If applying as a Special Analysis Center, describe the special type(s) of analysis you will perform. If applying as a Global Analysis Center, describe the global analysis you will perform. Indicate your specific analysis interests and describe how you select the data you analyze. Our main interest is the celestial reference frame. We plan to develop an observing program on the European VLBI Network (EVN) to supplement the currently existing programs for maintaining and extending the ICRF. We will analyze the corresponding data and submit our results to the IVS. Our goal is also to study the ICRF source position stability and to conduct research to identify the physical phenomena that can affect this stability. Describe the computer hardware configuration and the software package(s) you use for analysis. Unix and VMS workstations (HP and DEC alpha) MODEST (JPL) Internet connection type or bit rate: 64 Kb/s Data storage capacity: 10 Gb Describe any planned facility upgrades. We expect to get faster Unix workstations next year. Our internet connection may be upgraded to several Mb/s in the future. Number of full-time-equivalent personnel assigned to analysis center functions: 1 Indicate which data center(s) you use: CDDIS or any other data center when set up Indicate which of the following IVS Analysis Center functions you will perform and explain briefly how you will perform them: Provide timely feedback to stations Create high quality products and perform timely archiving and distribution X Place final results (TRF, CRF, EOP, and others) in IVS Data Centers Perform software development and documentation Compare products X Adhere to IERS Conventions Attach a list of personnel (names and titles) whom you designate as IVS Associate Members through their affiliation with your analysis center. Patrick Charlot Dr. Bruno Viateau Dr. Alain Baudry Dr. Please provide any other information that you feel will be helpful in demonstrating your analysis center's capabilities to participate in the IVS. If you proposed to the IERS in 1995/6 as an analysis center and wish to have that proposal carry over to the IVS, please make such a statement in this proposal. We have experience in running VLBI experiments with the EVN (although not of the geodetic/astrometric type) and are familiar with the MODEST VLBI software through our collaboration with JPL. Your signature on this form indicates your agreement to participate in the IVS as an Analysis Center and to work closely with the IVS Analysis Coordinator. If this is a new proposal (i.e. not carried over from IERS) your signature commits your organization to participate in the IVS.
