Yes Check the collocated space geodetic techniques at your site: SLR X GPS X DORIS___ PRARE___ GLONASS___ Gravimeter X Other (specify): The GSD maintains a permanent GPS monitoring station at Algonquin, which is used by all IGS Analysis Centers as a fiducial reference. Satellite laser ranging and absolute gravity observations are also available for the site, which is located on the stable pre-Cambrian Canadian Shield. Local site stability has been monitored regularly using a high-precision network. Installation of a GLONASS receiver at Algonquin is expected to be completed in 1998. Azimuth and elevation encoder upgrade. An S2 Data Acquisition System (DAS) will be installed in 1999. Attach a list of personnel (names and titles) whom you designate as IVS Associate Members through their affiliation with your station. Norman Beck, Chief - Active Control Systems Mario Berube, Team Leader - VLBI Operations Sylvain Brazeau, VLBI Operations Mike Daniels, VLBI Operations Stephen Farley, VLBI Operations Jacques LaFrance, VLBI Operations Josef Popelar, Emeritus Scientist Please provide any other information that you feel will be helpful in demonstrating your station's capabilities to participate in the IVS. If you proposed to the IERS in 1995/6 as a radio telescope observatory and wish to have that proposal carry over to the IVS, please make such a statement in this proposal. The ARO was used in the first successful VLBI experiment in 1967 and participated since 1984 in the NASA's CDP and DOSE programs. A long term loan of a Mark III terminal from NASA in 1989 makes it possible to participate regularly in VLBI observations in support of the maintenance of the celestial and terrestrial reference frames in the NEOS, CORE, MARS and NAPS series. General specifications for the 46m Algonquin antenna are attached in Appendix A. The ARO was included in the proposal to the IERS and we wish this to carry over to the IVS. Your signature on this form indicates your agreement to participate in the IVS as a Network Station, to comply with IVS performance standards for data quality and operational reliability, and to work closely with the IVS Network and Technology Coordinators. If this is a new proposal (i.e. not carried over from IERS) your signature commits your organization to participate in the IVS.
