Yes Check the collocated space geodetic techniques at your site: SLR___ GPS X DORIS X PRARE___ GLONASS___ Gravimeter X Other (specify): The GSD maintains a permanent GPS monitoring station, which is also used by all IGS Analysis Centers as a fiducial reference. A DORIS beacon has been located at the site since 1988 in support of CNES programs. Absolute gravity and continuous geomagnetic and seismological array observations are also available for the site, which is located on the stable pre-Cambrian Canadian Shield. Local site stability is monitored with high precision. An S2 Data Acquisition System (DAS) and Recording Terminal (RT) will be installed in 1999. Attach a list of personnel (names and titles) whom you designate as IVS Associate Members through their affiliation with your station. Mario Berube, Team Leader - VLBI Operations Bill Outhwaite, VLBI Operations George Jenson, VLBI Operations Please provide any other information that you feel will be helpful in demonstrating your station's capabilities to participate in the IVS. If you proposed to the IERS in 1995/6 as a radio telescope observatory and wish to have that proposal carry over to the IVS, please make such a statement in this proposal. VLBI at the Yellowknife Geophysical Observatory involves operation of the MV-1 9m radio telescope as part of the global fiducial network for the maintenance of the terrestrial reference frame. The MV-1 VLBI system on long-term loan from NASA has been used regularly in the NAPS series of experiments since 1990. General specifications for the 9m MV-1 system can be obtained from NASA. The Yellowknife Geophysical Observatory was included in the proposal to the IERS and we wish this to carry over to the IVS. Your signature on this form indicates your agreement to participate in the IVS as a Network Station, to comply with IVS performance standards for data quality and operational reliability, and to work closely with the IVS Network and Technology Coordinators. If this is a new proposal (i.e. not carried over from IERS) your signature commits your organization to participate in the IVS.
